BTS GROUP RECEIVES ROSPA GOLD AWARD FOR HEALTH & SAFETY

BTS Group Ltd has earned a prestigious global health and safety award from The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA)

BTS Group, a nationally-recognised utility arboriculture company, has been assessed against rigorous criteria to win a Gold Award in Occupational Achievement, showing the company to be a leader in health and safety.

The company helps keep the overhead power network free from vegetation – a high-risk environment that requires a strong safety culture supported by meticulous process and procedure throughout the business.

Incorporated in 1993, BTS has consistently been at the forefront of safety in the industry. It was the first company to have arborists trained under the first utility-arb-specific qualifications. This award reflects its continued dedication to the safety of its staff, subcontractors, and the public.

Hal McCallum, Managing Director of BTS Group, said:

‘Over 30 years of safe working, keeping thousands of kilometres of overhead line clear, keeping the public’s lights, TVs and computers on – through challenging times including the COVID-19 pandemic – has been a big job.

‘This award, as all before it, is a testimony to the safe working practices of this business and all who have worked, and still work, within it. Another great achievement.’

RoSPA Awards

Now in its 69th year, and with almost 2,000 entries annually from over 50 countries, covering over seven million employees, the RoSPA Awards are the world’s largest health and safety awards programme, recognising those organisations and individuals who have set the highest standards in accident prevention.

Julia Small, RoSPA’s Growth Director, said:

‘BTS Group should be proud of the hard work and commitment to keeping people safe that has resulted in a RoSPA Award, which honours those organisations who have achieved the highest standards in health and safety in the workplace.

‘RoSPA regards BTS Group as a strong example of the importance of making accident prevention central to any successful organisation, not just for the benefit of employees, customers and clients, but also society as a whole.’
