Founded in 1996 as Broadleaf Tree Specialists, the BTS Group has continued to grow dynamically as a business. We are proud of our ISO and IiP accreditations; demonstrating our class leading qualities.
The life blood of our business is a strong team spirit that is present across the spectrum.
Our core focus is arboriculture, over head line electrical contracting and all forms of land based training.
ART is our retail division that specialises in the supply of high quality equipment to the arb industry and contract arboricultural services.
Employing in the region of 300 staff, we operate and manage tree teams, linesmen and Hot Glove teams in the construction and maintenance of over head power lines.
Accreditations/Certifications
BTS is proud to hold accreditations to the three well known International standards ISO 9001:2008 the quality management standard, ISO 14001:2004 the environmental management standard and OHSAS 18001:2007 the health and safety management standard.

These standards are seen by some companies as prerequisites to working with their contractors and suppliers. The company held an ISO9000 certificate since 1996 and the directors showed their commitment to the certification process by making a formal decision to pursue gaining certification for the environmental management system and the health and safety management system. BTS were successful on the first audit of these two management systems and were certified in May 2006. Since achieving certification to all three standards BTS has converted the internal processes into an integrated management system (IMS) and the new system is contained in intranet based documents that have been described as “very impressive” by the external auditor.
This diagram shows how BTS has incorporated the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) principles of the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards into its management system. It is worth noting that the 2007 version of OHSAS 18001 the PDCA principal is included, this means that the three international standards are more closely aligned.
